What is your favorite part of the day?

brushing-teethAt night, we have a great bed-time routine.  Similar to most people, we brush our teeth, get in pajamas, then climb into bed.  After applying Calmer and Stronger topically, I start a diffuser with Siberian Fir and Wild Orange for my son.  Then I cuddle with him and ask his favorite part of the day. “Now,” is his frequent reply.

“Do you like now more than the birthday party?” I’ll clarify.  Sometimes he reconsiders and changes his mind but usually, he loves NOW more than anything else.

halloweenYears ago, when my daughter was 3 years old, we were trick-or-treating and she mentioned how happy she was to be there, knocking on doors, being dressed up, and having fun while collecting candy.

If you are like me, you are busy planning the next few hours or days, rather than focusing on what is in front of you.  Planning is a strength but can be a downfall when we don’t pay attention to what is going on now as well.  This 8th post highlighting a teacher is dedicated to my children, who help me live each day completely.

I’ve learned to take lots of pictures, usually with the camera on my phone, but also with my mind.  Taking a deep breath, soaking up the emotions coursing through my body, and smiling, help me be here now mentally.

While editing this post, I noticed the word focus.  Perhaps I should use my focus blend to help me be more aware also.
